According to reliable data, The United States of America has recorded a number of serial killers than any other country in the world. A sum of 12, 746 victims of serial killings were identified nationwide between 1990 and 2020. Also, California is recorded to have the highest number of serial murders with a total of 1,777. Texas followed with a total of 984.

However, Washington DC also records the highest number of serial killings with about 25 victims in about 100,000 residents. Alaska has the second highest killings with a total of 7 per 100,000. Louisiana follows with 6.5 killings in about 100,000 homes.

Most serial killers are recorded to be in the field for money or a hobby. About 32% of the serial killers claimed that they killed their victims for money and about a quarter of them claimed they found delight in killing. Also, about 18% of them are reported to have anger issues. Gang activities also had a record of 6%.

Every single 50 states in the United States of America have had a notorious and ruthless serial killer in it. For example, Ted Bundy comes from Florida, John Wayne Gacy also comes from Illinois and Charles Edmund Cullen also hails from New Jersey.
