Walt Willey (born January 26, 1951) is an actor from the United States. From 1987 until 2011, he was most recognised for his role as Jackson Montgomery in the serial series All My Children. Willey was born in Ottawa, Illinois, and graduated from Ottawa Township High School in 197He studied sculpting at Southern Illinois University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. He played baseball against Drake Hogestyn, another future soap opera star, in college. He moved to New York City from Illinois in 198Joe Novak on Ryan’s Hope was his first soap opera role.  Willey joined the cast of All My Children after appearing in a number of Off-Broadway shows, including Dust Off with Dan Lauria and spells on Another World and Ryan’s Hope. Willey began doing stand-up comedy in 1989 and has since entertained audiences all throughout the nation. He performed in a number of well-known comedy venues, including Caroline’s in Manhattan and the Comedy Store in Los Angeles. In 1992, he was a People’s Choice Award contender, and Soap Opera Update’s Reader’s Poll awarded him All My Children’s “Most Valuable Player.” In 1993, he received this prize once again. Willey holds monthly charity fundraisers and established the ‘Willey World Endowment Fund,’ which benefits children’s charities.
