McShay is an American football commentator and television analyst. He started his career as an undergraduate team equipment manager while he attended the University of Richmond. In 1998, he landed an internship with Gary Horton, former NFL scout.

He studied BA from the Jepson School of Leadership Studies. Todd also served as a scout-team quarterback in college but had to end his college career after a back injury. After graduating college, he started working for “The War Room” which was later renamed “Scouts Inc” after ESPN bought it.

People on Reddit believed that he was either very drunk or had a serious illness in the video. Several threads have been discussing McShay’s fumbling on the live broadcast. It was very concerning as he couldn’t string a coherent sentence together. Todd was struggling and left around halftime.

According to The Sun, during a game between Wisconsin and Northwestern in November last year, he had to be taken off-air because he was fumbling during the opening remarks. Todd contracted COVID-19 in April 2020 and was forced to sit out ESPN’s NFL draft coverage. He has not revealed if he has cancer, however, it is unlikely.
